Lake Front Park
The Lake Front Park is one of the city's most recent additions to the Altoona Park family. It is located west of Eau Claire County Park on Kewin Street. The park was established as a quiet family park with special opportunities for person with disabilities. For example, the park includes a fishing dock, picnic tables, and a portable restroom, all designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities. A bench swing provides a serene view over Lake Altoona. There is no playground equipment in this park.
Altoona City Park
The Altoona City Park is the city's most active park. It is located on 5 1/2 acres of land at the corner of Bartlett Avenue and 10th Street West. The park offers a youth baseball field, five tennis courts, a basketball court, open pavilion, and playground equipment. The pavilion is available to be reserved.
Cinder City Park
This park is comprised of approximately 25 acres, located north of Spooner Avenue and east of 10th Street West. The park has four lighted ball fields: two adult softball, one baseball, and one youth. A playground is nestled amount the pine trees for the children to enjoy during the busy summer months. Restroom and concession facilities are available during the times that activities take place in the park.
Devney Park
The Devney Park is located on Devney Drive west of County Trunk A (aka Third Street East) and consists of approximately 4 acres. It offers one lighted youth baseball field, playground equipment, tennis and basketball courts. A small recreation facility and pavilion are also located at this park and are available for reservations.
Highland Park
This 3-1/2 acre park is designed primarily for passive activities. The park offers a tennis court and basketball court. A small playground, pavilion, and picnic area are also available.
Centennial Park
This undeveloped park, located just off Spooner Avenue, has a trail which runs along Otter Creek. Walking the Otter Creek Trail provides an opportunity to enjoy deer, ducks, and wildflowers. In the winter time, the park and trail transform into a winter wonderland.
Lake Altoona County Park
Lake Altoona County Park is located on the south shore of Lake Altoona, in the City of Altoona. The park's boat landing provides easy access to the 840 acre lake. Facilities include a clubhouse and shelter for graduation parties (maximum of 3 graduates), family or business gatherings, a large beach area, changing facilities, cooking grills, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and a playground.
