Altoona Police Chief proposes moving Parks & Rec. Dept.

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Altoona Police Chief Jesse James is proposing that the city's Parks and Recreation Department move to a different building.

The Altoona Parks and Recreation Committee discussed the proposal at Monday night's meeting.

Right now, the department is in the same building as altoona emergency services, but Chief James wants to change that.

He says it's a matter of public safety, but also because of the growth of Emergency Services.

James says the city is moving in the direction of relocating the Parks and Recreation department to its former location, near Hobbs Ice Arena.

That building is currently being renovated for the potential move.
