Groundbreaking at Altoona's new "Front Porch"

Altoona (WQOW) - The City of Altoona celebrated a new beginning Friday afternoon.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new part of the River Prairie development. The event was the result of over 10 years of planning by the city.

Nestled along the Eau Claire River, the development will feature restaurants, retail, and residential areas. The city hopes people view it as Altoona's new "Front Porch."
