EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)- The City of Altoona wants to move forward with more businesses for the River Prairie Development.

City Administrator Mike Golat talked about it Friday morning at the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce's State of Altoona event.

Golat says city council members are in the negotiation and planning phase of the northwest quadrant of the development.

It's at the River Prairie exit off the 53-bypass.

The city already secured a Staybridge hotel for the area.

It hopes to include a farmer's market and a park in its plan for the northwest quadrant.

The plan is to have parts finished by spring of 2016.
