Eau Claire (WQOW) - Good news for drivers! After being closed for more than two months, a busy area street is open to traffic again.

The 'road closed' signs were pulled off of Spooner Avenue on Monday. The heavily traveled route between Eau Claire and Altoona usually sees more than 5,000 cars a day. The $1 million project was a joint effort between Altoona, Eau Claire and Eau Claire County.

The job was completed earlier than expected. It was originally not suppose to re-open until early September.
