ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Area emergency services spent the day grilling up brats for a good cause.

Altoona Fire, Police, and EMS were in the Woodman's parking lot raising money for new AED devices.

Community members could buy brats along with soda and water.
Various service vehicles were also on display.

Officer Anthony Helstern with the Altoona Police Department says AEDs are lifesaving devices.

"The idea is to have all the first responders to have an AED or at least the ones that are on call or respond to call, so we are putting them where they need to be so they're available for people who need them," said Officer Helstern.

The fundraiser wrapped up around 7 p.m. Thursday.
