Larson Companies and the City of Altoona announce new-build Staybridge Suites in Altoona

February 12, 2015 Altoona, Wisconsin- Thomas Larson, President of Larson Companies, and Jack Blackburn, Altoona's Mayor, are pleased to announce plans for a 120-room, Staybridge Suites in Altoona, Wisconsin. The new hotel will be conveniently located just off Hwy 53 in Altoona's River Prairie Development.

Staybridge Suites delivers warm, welcoming modern comforts, a thoughtful experience created by a genuinely caring team and an authentic sense of community that makes today's upscale extended stay guest feel like family and completely at home. "We strive to meet the physical and emotional needs of guests who spend time away from home. We want them to be comfortable, like a member of the family, not just another guest," said Thomas Larson, President of Larson Companies.

Mayor Jack Blackburn emphasized how the Staybridge flag would complement Altoona's River Prairie Development. "Staybridge offers an upscale lodging experience that reflects the quality and aesthetics we are striving for in River Prairie," commented Mayor Blackburn, "We are especially excited about the outdoor courtyard and amenities that will pair beautifully with the 'Front Porch' vibe we intend to create."

Larson Companies and the City of Altoona have been working on a sales and development agreement over the past few months with the intent of beginning construction on the hotel this spring. "Of all the municipalities we have worked with over the years, the City of Altoona has been among the best to date," added Larson.

The 90,000 square foot Staybridge Suites is being carefully designed to be more efficient to build, operate and maintain. Building design and materials ensure that no outside interruptions interfere with a guest's comfort and stay.

The Staybridge Suites has studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites each equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher. The hotel will also offer complimentary hot breakfast buffets, social evening receptions, The Pantry, 24-Hour convenience store, free wireless, complimentary fitness room and laundry room open around the clock, business center, IHG Rewards and a pet friendly environment. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy outdoor living amenities which include a BBQ and gazebo.

Staybridge Suites is owned by a group led by Larson Companies, under a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group. The project ownership group includes Richard Larson, Thomas Larson, Tim Pabich, Tim Olson and Tom Toy. The property will be built by Royal Construction and managed by Larson Companies.
