RPC plans to host a variety of community events, including running races, car shows, concerts, and food festivals.

The center will also host private parties such as weddings, reunions, and corporate events.

There is room for 250 seated guests.

Altoona city leaders say this is a great venue for the area.

"We are really excited to have this day come, it's been a long time coming", says Brendan Pratt, Mayor of Altoona. "This will be a home for several years for all the Altoona residents and beyond, it will be a great gathering place for a lot of people."

Altoona's mayor says River Prairie Center is already receiving booking requests into next year.
