CITY OF ALTOONA, Wis. (RELEASE) Altoona city leaders were set to discuss a proposed strip club at Thursday night's meeting, but its backers failed to show up.

Mike Golat, the Altoona City Administrator, says he was contacted by aman last week asking to discuss the proposal and the changing of an ordinance that's been in place since 1998. That ordinance currently prohibits the opening of the strip club.

However, because that man was not there, no action was taken.

The community did still have the opportunity to voice their opinions about it. Everyone who spoke at the podium, was strongly against a strip club.

The ordinance in question tonight has been in place since since 1998.
