Altoona's mayor and city administrator outlined plans moving forward Friday morning at the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce Eggs and Issues Breakfast.

City administrator Mike Golat says the public space in the northwest quadrant of the development will be heavily worked on this summer, and the city is still working to draw in new businesses to fill seven remaining lots. He says once complete, the project will be an arts and entertainment district for the area.

"We have two bars and restaurants down there and they will interact with the park and energize the park. We have opportunities to work with local artists down there and have art installations down there it is taking on the complexion as an arts and entertainment district," said Golat.

The city says it is looking forward to continue to work with the community members and businesses to further develop the area into a place for the whole family to enjoy.
