The Altoona Streets Department's mission is to maintain the City's
streets in a condition that assures the safety, health and
welfare of users of the streets.

Altoona's Street Department is responsible for
maintaining over 68 miles of roads within the City of Altoona.
Maintenance activities provided by the street department include
filling potholes; sign maintenance; striping (street lines); street
cleaning; crack sealing; curb and gutter repair; road grading; snow
plowing; trail maintenance; engineering and construction management;
and building and equipment maintenance. The street department
also helps manage reconstruction and new street construction
projects every summer.
