Two rescued on Lake Altoona

LAKE ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Two people were rescued on Lake Altoona earlier Monday.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Scott Thiede with the Wisconsin DNR says that three people were on inflatable boats when the wind picked up during the day. Thiede says one person was able to make it back to shore, but two others were not: that's when they called emergency crews.

Thiede wants to remind people to wear life jackets while on the lake, no matter what type of boat you're using.
