On March 22nd the Altoona City Council hosted a public presentation at The Classic at Hillcrest Greens to explore the design of the parks and public amenities planned for the Northwest Quadrant of River Prairie.

City Administrator Mike Golat opened the meeting by revisiting "The Power of Ten" principle of successful placemaking advocated by the Project for Public Places and how this concept informs the design of River Prairie. The design team from Ayers & Associates presented images of each proposed park feature, followed by an interactive Q&A including the utilization of the three dimensional model to allow attendees to be immersed in the new park spaces.

Mike Golat and Finance Director Tina Nelson capped the evening by providing a financial picture of Tax Increment District 3 that supports development of public infrastructure in River Prairie.
