  1. State law requires a dog be licensed
  2. Licensed dogs that go missing have a better chance of being found
  3. It proves your ownership
  4. It indicates that your pet's rabies shot is up to date

THINGS TO KNOW

  • The State requires all dogs, 5 months and older, to be licensed every year & to have current rabies vaccine.
  • Chapter 6.08 of the Altoona Municipal Code limits a household or place of business to two (2) dogs and three (3) cats.
  • A dog or cat must be on a leash no longer than six feet (6') in length on a public sidewalk, street, or park.
  • No cat, dog, or domesticated animal is to run at large withing the city >> must be leashed.

FEES
$18 = Spayed or Neutered
$29 = NOT Spayed or NOT Neutered
$5 = Late fee per dog after 03/31/2025

There will be separate hunts for each age group. Egg Hunts will start with the youngest group and follow in order by age.

Too often, unused and expired medications find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. Bringing unused and expired medications to a Drug Take Back Day collection site protects you, your family, and your community.

How to participate

It's easy to participate in Drug Take Back Day. Just stop by a collection site and drop your items into a bin. That's it. No questions are asked. You can be in and out of a collection site in minutes.

What to bring

Prescription and over-the-counter medications may be disposed of at Drug Take Back Day collection sites, including:

  • Capsules
  • Creams
  • Inhalers
  • Non-aerosol sprays
  • Ointments
  • Patches
  • Pills
  • Vials

Liquids must be in their original container.

Pet medications are accepted.
