The 2020 General Election is to be held on November 3, 2020 in the City of Altoona, Eau Claire County.  In-person absentee voting is available before this election for all Wards 1 through 16 at Altoona City Hall, 1303 Lynn Avenue, Altoona, WI on the following days from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Fall Frenzy for Pre-Schoolers through 4th Grade

River Prairie Park

The annual Halloween party will look different this year, but still packed with FREE fun for the whole family!

Weather dependent, the fun will take place along the trail by the river in River Prairie Park starting at the large pavilion.  If the weather is bad, it will become a drive-thru event.

Halloween Drive Thru Trick or Treat

Saturday, October 31 at 4 PM

Hobbs parking lot, 2300 Spooner Ave, Altoona, WI

The Altoona Police Department and the Altoona Fire Department will be hosting a Drive Thru Trick-or-Treating line in the Hobbs parking lot Halloween night. Come see the fire trucks 🚒 and police cars 🚔 as you drive thru in your vehicle and get a bagged treat at the end.

Trick-or-Treat Safety

Saturday, October 31 from 5 PM to 7:30 PM

EVERY YEAR

  • Carry a flashlight and include reflective or bright costume elements to increase visibility
  • Watch for vehicles and be careful crossing the street
  • Wait to eat any treats until an adult can check them
  • Guide kids to walk on the sidewalk or the right side of the road

THIS YEAR | to help slow the spread of COVID-19

  • If you're sick - don't go trick-or-treating or hand our candy
  • Mask up - wear a cloth face covering (incorporate it into your costume!)
  • Keep your circle small - Trick-or-Treat only with people you live with
  • Practice physical distancing from others who aren't in your circle (maintain 6 ft distance)
  • Use hand sanitizer often and wash hands thoroughly before eating any treats
  • Hand out candy in small grab bags or cups to avoid contact
