Director of Public Works/City Engineer - The City of Altoona, WI, population 9,320, in beautiful Eau Claire County, invites applications from highly motivated, qualified, and experienced public works professionals with proven leadership, technical, and administrative skills, to join our management team. With support from the parks' maintenance supervisor and public works superintendent, plans, directs, manages, and oversees all public works operations; develops departmental and capital budgets and completes departmental strategic planning; manages capital projects from inception to completion; completes review of proposed development projects. Ability to design utilities and roads projects preferred, but not required.

Salary: $105,705 - $135,907.20 DOQ + excellent benefits

Assistant Fire Chief / Fire Inspector

Altoona Fire Department

The City of Altoona, WI, population 9,320 invites applications from highly qualified fire professionals to join and lead the Altoona Fire Department.

The successful applicant will have, at a minimum, the following:

  • A valid WI driver's license
  • Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services Certification for Fire Detection, Prevention, & Suppression Inspector License
  • Certified State of Wisconsin Firefighter II 
  • FEMA certificates: IS-200, IS-300, IS-400, & IS-800b
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 7-years of demonstrated progressive fire leadership experience
  • Fire Officer supervisory experience
  • Residency within 10 minutes response time to the fire station within one year of hire

Salary range is $59,467-$76,440 + excellent benefits. Pre-employment screening is required.
