The City of Altoona (population: 8,651), located in Eau Claire County, is one of the fastest-growing communities in Wisconsin. Altoona invites qualified professionals to join its team as Assistant City Administrator.

Requirements: Graduation from a four-year university with coursework in public administration or a related field. Minimum of three years of supervisory and/or administrative experience. Graduate degree preferred.

Salary range: $$76,793.60 - $98,737.60 DOQ + excellent benefits.  $2,000 relocation allowance and first two months' rent provided up to $1,000 per month if a move is required. The City also contributes $2,000 for a single, or $4,000 for a family, to employees' health reimbursement accounts. The City has the flexibility to offer vacation leave commensurate with previous experience and vacation accrual and offers eight hours of sick leave per month. A retirement plan is offered through Wisconsin PERS and the City currently provides a 6.5% match of the employee's contribution of 6.5%.

Janitor-Custodian Worker, part-time

The City of Altoona, WI, population 8,651, invites applications from janitor-custodian worker for part-time work.  This crew member will maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition.  In addition to daily routine cleaning, the janitor-custodian worker will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as shampooing rugs, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors, washing walls and windows, tending furnaces, changing light bulbs, keeping track of and ordering supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and arrange tables and chairs in preparation for meetings, notifying city administration of need for repairs and removal of snow or debris from sidewalks. Seasonal Public Works Maintenance

The City of Altoona, WI, population 8651, invites applications from experienced maintenance workers for seasonal work.  Under the direction of the PW Superintendent, this position is responsible for maintenance and improvements of parks, grounds, facilities, and equipment, as well as project and maintenance work.  Valid WI driver license required; WI CDL Class B with air brakes endorsement preferred. Wage starts @ $15.50 per hour.
