Altoona (WQOW) - A new community equipped for senior care is open and ready for renters to move in.

The Classic at Hillcrest Greens in Altoona opened in July, with 99 apartment units for independent living and memory care. So far, there are nearly 30 units already rented.

The apartment complex features units capable of housing one to two people. Rent starts around $2,000 per month, which includes some amenities like utilities, on-site dining and weekly house cleaning services.

Natalie Robarge, the community relations director for The Classic at Hillcrest Greens, said, "We do have many couples that are moving in. One of the wonderful features about it is that one is assisted and one is independent."

Robarge also mentioned a couple can stay in the same apartment to maintain their lifestyle and be provided services tailored to their needs.

The Classic at Hillcrest Greens will have a grand opening Saturday, September 19 with live music and refreshments. Tours will also be given.
