Prevea Health will open an urgent care clinic in April just off the River Prairie Drive exit of U.S. 53 in Altoona.

Prevea Altoona Urgent Care, 2085 Meadowlark Lane, Suite 20, will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27.

The clinic will treat minor illnesses and injuries, such as cold or flu symptoms, earaches, sprains, minor fractures, cuts, infections and asthma, according to a Prevea news release. Laboratory and X-ray services also will be available there.

When it opens, its hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Prevea, a Green Bay-based health care organization, has been opening several clinics in the region since it began serving western Wisconsin in 2015. Prevea has a partnership with HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
