ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Tuesday night, the City of Altoona gave the public a new look at plans for a new park in the River Prairie Development.

City officials unveiled new renderings, and gave a virtual tour as to what the proposed park would look like.

Plans call for a 7-acre park in the Northwest part of the development.

The $6 million project includes pavilions and a performance area.

Mayor Jack Blackburn says the project isn't just for Altoona.

"This is for the whole Chippewa Valley, and we're looking for input as to what the folks in the greater Eau Claire area would like to see here," said Blackburn.

The city hopes to have this phase of the project complete by late fall.
