The American Red Cross and Altoona Fire Department are working to rally volunteers

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU)- The American Red Cross and Altoona Fire Department are working to rally volunteers to get free smoke alarms in area homes.

The American Red Cross and its partners have launched the Home Fire Campaign to reduce deaths and injuries caused by home fires by 25 percent over five years.

On April 24, the local Red Cross chapter and the Altoona Fire Department will work with volunteers to install free smoke alarms.
