Seeking Applicants for Aldermanic District 5 (Wards 9 and 10)

ALTOONA, WI - The City of Altoona is seeking applicants to fill a City Council position that will be vacated by Kaitlyn Leopold effective August 1, 2025. The new council member, who will be appointed by the City Council, will serve until April, 2026.

Applicants must reside in Aldermanic District 5, Wards 9 & 10, which consists of the following legal descriptions:

Ward 9: All of the City of Altoona south and west of a line commencing at the intersection of the western boundary of the city and Spooner Ave, thence easterly to its intersection with the northbound lane of US Highway 53, thence southerly along the northbound lane US Highway 53 to its intersection with the city boundary.

Ward 10. All of the City of Altoona north and west of a line commencing at the intersection of the western boundary of the city and Spooner Ave, thence easterly to its intersection with the northbound lane of US Highway 53, thence northerly along the northbound lane US Highway 53 to its intersection with the city boundary.

District 5 is labeled and highlighted in pink on the map below.

All applicants must submit a letter of application and resume by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 to the Clerk's office at 1303 Lynn Avenue, Altoona, WI.
