CORRECTION to the 2022 Notice of Changed Assessment

Wednesday, September 7, 2022
City of Altoona staff

The City of Altoona is advising property owners that the letter sent recently from the city assessor had two different dates for the upcoming Board of Review. The correct date is Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm by appointment only.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR NEW ASSESSMENT, PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE BOARD OF REVIEW TO SPEAK TO THE ASSESSOR

If you have questions about your assessment, you have until Tuesday, September 27, 2022 to speak to the assessor about the new value. An assessor will be available for the In-Person Open Book scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at Altoona City Hall, 1303 Lynn Avenue, Altoona, WI. An appointment is not required for Open Book. If you cannot attend Open Book, you can make an appointment with an assessor by calling Accurate Appraisal at 920-749-8098 or make an appointment using their on-line appointment book at accurate.rovingcalendar.com/appointments or by email at info@accurateassessor.com.

If you cannot come to an agreement of value with the assessor, a written/oral intent to object must be filed with the Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the Board of Review. A PA-115A form with your opinion of value must be filed with the Clerk in order to attend the Board of Review. Please be advised that the Board of Review is the last step in the appeal process to challenge the new assessed value. To schedule your appointment and to obtain form PA-115A, please contact Cindy Bauer, Altoona City Clerk at cindyb@ci.altoona.wi.us or 715-839-6092.
