Kwik Trip, Westconsin Credit Union in final plans for River Prairie Development

CITY OF ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) Altoona city leaders announce final plans for the River Prairie Mixed Use Development Area.
The public got to voice their thoughts on it at a meeting Tuesday in City Hall.
It's the space across from the new Woodman's Food Market.
A 50 acre parcel in the northwest quadrant of River Prairie, in between the Eau Claire River and Highway 53.
It was confirmed that a Kwik Trip gas station and Westconsin Credit Union will be added to it.
The goal is to create a plan that calls for a mix of residential, commercial, retail, and outdoor uses.
"I think tonight was kind of a litmus test to see what kind of reaction we got from the community and seeing that it was relatively positive, I think we're ready to move forward," says Altoona City Administrator Mike Golat.
On Thursday, Altoona City Council will vote whether to approve phase one of the plan. If approved, it will give the green light for the contractor to build the infrastructure. Read more about this article »
