Altoona (WQOW)- Altoona's River Prairie development continues to expand, and soon so could the city's options to grab a bite to eat.

On Monday Altoona's Plan Commission approved the building plans for Cowboy Jack's.  The Minnesota-based chain restaurant is set to move in to the northwest quadrant of River Prairie.  The plans include a patio that wraps around the back of the bar and grill, overlooking what will soon be the park, and the Chippewa River.

With Monday's approval the plans will now go in front of the full city council on June 23.  If passed, construction is scheduled to start in August.

Also on Monday the Plan Commission approved the design plans for an office building by Royal Construction, also coming to River Prairie's northwest quadrant.  The 6,000 square foot building will on the west corner of Meadowlark Lane and Front Porch Place.  Plans include 31 parking stalls and a walking trail connecting to the park.

Right now the city owns three of the surrounding lots.  These design plans will also be presented to City Council on June 23.
