Mobile home fire displaces family of 4 in Altoona

Altoona (WQOW) - A family of four, including two kids, lost their home to a fire early Thursday morning in Altoona.

Firefighters got the call around 2 a.m. to a home on Rosebud Lane in the Hillcrest Estates Mobile Home Park. The family escaped, but one man burned his hands trying to put out the fire.

Fire officials are looking into whether a cigarette butt in a can, on the wooden porch, started the fire. Firefighters were called back to the scene twice Thursday morning when strong winds rekindled the fire.
