Grand opening for new rehab center held in Altoona

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local non-profit senior care organization has opened a short-term rehab center.

Grace Lutheran Communities held a grand opening celebration for Prairie Pointe Rehab Suites Monday afternoon.

Prairie Pointe features 40 rooms with private spa-life bathrooms, a bistro for casual dining, and therapy gym.

Mike Christensen, CEO of Grace Lutheran Communities, says the average length of stay at the rehab center will be about ten days.
"Whether it's a joint replacement or whether it's a bout with pneumonia, it's designed to get you well and get you back home", said Christensen

Prairie Pointe also features a large community center which will be used for events, free of charge.
