TIME TO EAT. The First Taste Culinary Crawl will be held again on Sept. 14 at River Prairie Center in Altoona.

It's no secret that the Chippewa Valley loves its local restaurants. Now that September has arrived, it brings me great joy to remind you that one of Volume One's finest programs is just around the corner: Chippewa Valley Restaurant Week will run from Sept. 15th through the 24th, with select eateries offering special menus and limited deals that will make going out to eat during these 10 days a must. While it isn't always financially responsible, I usually prefer going out to eat over cooking for myself. So it's hard to say no to these deals and specials that won't break the bank!

It's also not a secret that the best events always incorporate food. Good news for you, the First Taste Culinary Crawl is also returning to Altoona's River Prairie Center on Thursday, Sept. 14, to kick off Restaurant Week. Soak up the beauty of a late summer evening and indulge in a selection of the best cuisine the Chippewa Valley has to offer. And you can enjoy First Taste knowing that a portion of ticket sales will be donated to support Stepping Stones of Dunn County's food pantry.

Enjoy a ride on the Chippewa River Trolley and soak in the pastoral views of rural Wisconsin in early Autumn on the Farm & Orchard Trolley Tour Saturday, Sep. 23, 2023 • 9:00am-12:30pm. The tour will start at Jackson Family Farm where participants will receive a tour and free samples to enjoy. The next stop is Sweet Pine Farm where you'll learn all about their family farm and their farming history. Last but certainly not least we'll be heading to Connell's Family Orchard for a wagon ride and apple picking!
