Jesse Horne, WEAU

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- The City of Altoona will have - for the first time - a city planner to help with managing Altoona's growth.

Joshua Clements has been offered the position for city planner of Altoona, mayor Jack Blackburn confirmed to WEAU 13 News on Friday.

"We really need the help and we think that his qualifications will allow him to get the work done," Blackburn said. "His personality seems to be a very good fit for the rest of the office staff."

Blackburn said the offer has not yet been accepted, but hopes to have it finalized within the next several days.

Clements is currently operating as a community and economic development specialist through Iowa State University out of Dubuque.

Blackburn said the offer to Clements is for a salary of $62,000 and could start with Altoona within the next several weeks, if he accepts.
