The City of Altoona Announces Opening Date for The Yard Container Park

Altoona, WI -The City of Altoona is thrilled to announce the official grand opening of the highly anticipated Downtown Container Park on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The community is invited to join in a day of celebration, entertainment, and festivities as Altoona unveils this innovative new destination in the heart of the city.

The grand opening event will take place during business hours (11am - 10pm) at the new Container Park, located in downtown Altoona. An opening ceremony will take place at 1pm with music and activities to follow. A more detailed schedule to come.

• Dedication Ceremony & Ribbon Cutting
  Kick off the festivities with city officials and community leaders as we commemorate the opening of Container Park and officially welcome residents, visitors, and local businesses to this unique space.

• Cornhole Tournament
  Grab a partner and sign up for the inaugural cornhole tournament--fun awaits!

A New Destination for Altoona and the Chippewa Valley

The Yard Container Park is designed to bring people together and spark new opportunities forrecreation, dining, and gathering in Altoona's downtown. Featuring locally-owned restaurants,retail shops, an outdoor stage, a taproom, and plenty of green space, the park transformsshipping containers into vibrant spaces for the community.
