Thursday, June 1, 2017 Altoona city staff
Alyson (Reichgott) Jones comes to Altoona via Fall Creek, where she spent the last six years as library director. Before that, she spent three years as head of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Area Research Center and University Archives. Prior to that, she was an archivist for five years at Harvard University's Countway Library of Medicine and Houghton Library in Massachusetts. She graduated from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania in 1996 with a B.A. in history and classics, and from Simmons College in Boston in 2003 with a Master of Library and Information Science.
Alyson lives in Eau Claire with her husband, Ryan, and two daughters, Winnie (age 8) and Susannah (age 5). Her favorite authors include Doris Kearns Goodwin, David McCullough, and Nicholas Basbanes. She enjoys genealogical research, traveling to see her nieces and nephews, and debating the merits of paint samples with her husband as they work on their house.
We are happy to have Alyson as part of our team! Please stop by the Altoona Public Library to meet her!
