Woodman's in Altoona officially opens

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- Chippewa Valley customers have been shopping at the new Woodman's for about a month now but Thursday, people gathered to officially open the Altoona store.

Woodman's managers cut the ribbon to their new location on river prairie drive.

The store consists of 150,000 square feet of retail space and is known for its variety.

Phil Woodman says the support from the community has been outstanding so far.

"Without any of you we couldn't do this," he said at Thursday's ribbon-cutting ceremony. "It's all in your hands, of course we are all employee owned so without employees we couldn't do it either. So thank you to all. Let's have a great and we really look forward to serving the community."

The Woodman's in Altoona is the 13th store to open in Wisconsin.
